Product information "Crane Song Spider"
8-channel Mic-Pre Amplifier/Mixer with 10 x 24 Bit A/D-Converters up to 192 kHz
SPIDER is an expandable mixer package that starts with eight Audiophile-grade mic-preamps, individually accessed via the pre-fader insert points. Digital outputs include stereo (AES and SPDIF) and multi-channel with the following options: TDIF, ADAT optical and AES plus Master and Slave Word Clock I/O. These features allow Spider to spin its web to any analog or digital device - tape machine, hard disk recorder or workstation as well as provide a high quality front end to a mixer. Eight channels can be mixed to stereo on their own dedicated output as well as be routed to digital channels 7 and 8. This is particularly applicable to eight-channel recordings where six discrete tracks plus a sub-mix allows the recordist to cover all bases, for example: stereo pairs of orchestra, choir and hall or kick, snare, a pair of toms and stereo overhead.
Both the pre-amp and the converter modules have generous headroom and low noise, the maximum analog level at the insert points is +25 dBm. The extremely low output impedance insures that even long cable runs will not compromise the signal. The digital modules include a DSP process that provides optional analog tape emulation. The digital Interfaces can be user-upgraded.
